Max J.

 

Max is a composer, improviser, drummer and producer. Max was born in San Francisco, then based in New York City for over a decade before relocating to Los Angeles. He has worked across a wide variety of genres with artists such as Cass McCombs, Amirtha Kidambi, Chrome Sparks, Ava Mendoza, Rubblebucket, Brandon Seabrook, Dave Harrington, Stephanie Richards, James Brandon Lewis, Peter Evans, Chrome Sparks, Delicate Steve, Leverage Models/Shannon Fields, Adam Schatz/Landlady, and many others. He is a founding member of the groups JOBS, In One Wind, and The Chives, as well as several others. He holds an MFA in Music Technology from California Institute of the Arts and a BFA in Jazz Performance from The New School.
